# ShotShot

> A native macOS screenshot app: capture, combine, annotate, and export.

ShotShot is a one-time-purchase screenshot app for Mac. Capture any part of the screen, combine screenshots and images on one canvas, annotate, redact, frame, and export. No subscription. The licence covers three Macs.

## Capture
Area (⇧⌘2), window (⇧⌘4), screen (⇧⌘3); menu bar; `shotshot capture`; add-to-this-canvas from the toolbar; clipboard + Recent Captures.

## Annotate
Arrow, line, rectangle, ellipse, highlight, text, step, blur, emoji, magnifier. Three arrow styles, five heads, outline/filled/both, four typefaces (sticker, rounded, handwriting, monospace). Liquid glass on six tools. Magnifier: round or rounded lens.

## Redact
Blur, pixelate, solid block. Auto-redact via Vision (email, token, IP, phone).

## Layout
Frames: macOS window, browser, iPhone, MacBook. Layouts: grid, row, column, before/after. Gaps: tight, normal, roomy. Tidy and rebalance. Crop, lock, stack, nudge, rotate.

## Backgrounds and canvas
71 mesh presets (ColorFlow). Kinds: preset, none, image. Sizes: 1280×800, 1920×1080, 1080×1080, 1080×1350, 1080×1920, 1600×900.

## Local image tools

Remove Background uses Apple Vision foreground subject segmentation on macOS 14 or later. Extract text with on-device Apple Vision OCR. Image processing stays local; licence and update checks use the network.

## Upscale
4× Apple on-device super-resolution on the selected screenshot. macOS 26 or later and supported hardware, supported source up to 1920×1920. Preserves alpha.

## Export
PNG, JPEG, WebP (Sonoma+), PDF up to 4×. Quick Export, copy canvas, copy as Markdown. `.shotshot` documents. Recovery copies.

## CLI
`shotshot compose` uses the same backgrounds, frames, and layouts as the window.
