A screenshot is rarely finished when the shutter goes. ShotShot is what comes after it — in the window, or from a script.
Capture area (⇧⌘2), capture window (⇧⌘4), capture screen (⇧⌘3) from the menu bar, a global key, or shotshot capture. Add-to-this-canvas from the toolbar drops the next shot onto the composition you already have. Every shot is copied to the clipboard on the way past and filed under Recent Captures.
Ten tools — arrow, line, rectangle, ellipse, highlight, text, step, blur, emoji and magnifier — with three arrow styles, five heads, outline, filled and both fills, and four typefaces (sticker, rounded, handwriting and monospace). 48 emoji across reactions, pointers, objects. Magnifier as round lens or rounded lens. Pin a tool (P) so annotations chain.
Six of them — arrow, line, rectangle, ellipse, text and step — can be drawn as solid or liquid glass. A Metal shader bends the artwork underneath through the shape's own edges, and the export keeps it.
Blur, pixelate or solid block. Auto-redact reads the picture with Vision and covers every email address, token, IP address and phone number it finds.
Combine screenshots on one canvas. Wrap a shot in a macOS window, a browser window, an iPhone or a MacBook, drawn so it exports. Drop several on one and they arrange themselves — grid, row, column or before / after — with tight, normal or roomy gaps. Tidy (⇧⌘T) and rebalance (⇧⌘R) even the stack.
4× Apple super-resolution on the selected screenshot, on-device. macOS 26 or later, source up to 1920 × 1920. Window shadows and transparent edges stay intact — the model does not invent opacity.
71 mesh presets from ColorFlow — or None or image. Canvas sizes: Landscape (1280 × 800), Wide (1920 × 1080), Square (1080 × 1080), Portrait (1080 × 1350), Story (1080 × 1920) and Twitter (1600 × 900).
Crop a screenshot (C), lock it, duplicate it, walk the stack, nudge by 1 or 10 pt, rotate by 1° or 15°. Undo, paste an image or text, and a recovery copy is written after every edit. Closing the editor files the canvas; unsaved work is offered back at the next launch.
PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF up to 4× — WebP where macOS can write it — Quick Export, copy the canvas, or copy as Markdown with alt text read off the shots. Drag the finished canvas into Slack. Saves as a .shotshot file.
The app is its own command line. shotshot compose takes the same backgrounds, frames and layouts the window does and writes a finished picture, so release shots and docs figures can be rebuilt by a script instead of remade by hand.

No. You pay once and the licence does not expire. It covers three Macs and every update that follows, and Deactivate frees a seat when you move to a new machine.
ShotShot is launching, and the earliest buyers take the most risk on it. The first twenty-five licences are $5, the next twenty-five $10, and so on in fives up to the $29 list price. The counter on this page is the real one — the payment processor is keeping it, not this website — so a rung sells out whether or not anybody redeploys.

No. Editing and exporting happen on your Mac, and auto-redact reads the picture on-device with Apple's Vision framework. The app reaches the network to check your licence and look for updates, and for nothing else.
